Oh How Tender is the Night

Zelda: 1900 - 1948

Year: 1924
Cap d'Antibes, South of France

After a romantic evening at their villa on the French Rivera, Scott (28) starts planning the novel that will become Tender Is the Night.

He steps outside onto the patio of their villa and sings:-

Oh how tender is the night
A lovers story
When the stars are in your eyes
How they shine, the way I know
That mine are shining
When I hold you in my arms dear.

Oh how beautiful the moon
In all its glory
Dancing silver in your hair
If tomorrow you should go
I'll still remember
Oh how tender is the night.
